MISSION AND PURPOSE

Our mission provide safe, permanently affordable housing and security from displacement for low-moderate income residents.
Our purpose is to build strong and stable communities through the empowerment of its residents by offering access to education, healthcare, training and other resources.

VISION

Community revitalization is a process of transforming declining low-income neighborhoods into healthy ones. A healthy community is one where residents are involved in decisions affecting community life, home investment, welfare of children, education, and social services. Impediments to community life--such as gangs, crime and drug activity--are actively battled and replaced with ambition and vibrancy. Our organization strives to create and enhance wholesome communities where residents have hope and participate in community life.

The corporation promotes a comprehensive approach to neighborhood renewal--but also encompasses economic development, social service partnerships, development of educational opportunities and leadership. Through education, residents may overcome many barriers to homeownership and resourceful living. Therefore, residents are taught opportunities to save money for housing goals and are assisted in securing practical housing accomodations.

Vision and partnerships create tools for lasting positive change. The catalyst for positive change may derive from many sources, but the key to success is in the hands of RESIDENTS that want, envision and work for change to experience safer communities, renewal of opportunities and realization of dreams.

GOAL

Through partnership of government leaders, private sector representatives, residents and other not-for-profit organizations, we can all take pride in watching our neighborhoods flourish. Residents are taught homeownership paths as creative loan strategies are devised and specs are hammered for housing rehabilitation projects that will add blighted properties to the economic base. It is also our goal to see residents afforded other opportunities for education, financial growth and career instruction.

As neighborhoods improve, we target new partners to strengthen our organization as new challenges are embraced. We continue to explore housing development and advocate for housing-related needs.

Visions of Hope was meant to endure. As long as needs exist, our organization will be there to respond. We are committed to meeting the current and future needs of those we serve.
